25% of the amount of each image sold Championship Zed this year will be used to increase the prize pool Worlds 2016 of League of Legends. This feature will become traditional for all future World Cup games events.
If you’re familiar with The International of Dota 2, then you probably know that the money in the prize pool collected by the players of Dota 2 themselves, ~25% of each TI goods that was sold during some period of time will be added as a prize pool of The International.
New step of the LoL Esports
Riot Games previously don’t use that approach, highlighting their own prize pool at Worlds (analogue of The International in the League of Legends). Nevertheless, the division LoL Esports experiencing unstable times, a lot has happened in the course of this season, and some changes are made to the structure.
While most of the changes concerns the owners of cyber commands and other organizational nuances, there are some changes that can be directly participated by usual players of League of Legends. From this Worlds, 25% of the sales of each Championship skin will start to increase the Worlds prize pool.
Soon, Riot will release a Champion Zed skin. If players will buy this skin, the will not only get the Champion Zed himself, but also they will increase the prize pool of the Worlds 2016, group stage of which will start at 30 September.
This condition will be applyed to a set of images, based on the winners of the Worlds. In other words, the team that will win this year’s Worlds, get theirs own set of skins to personally chosen champions, and 25% of the sales of each will go to the team’s pro-player pocket on which a set was created.
Such innovations have a positive impact on the development of eSports for League of Legends, which is already at the highest level.
